How to deal with “Items Removed” Error in Sims 4

Have you been getting pop-ups that say ‘Items Removed’ in Sims 4?

If so, you’re not alone. And I’m here to share with you some possible causes and what to do with that annoying pop-up.

What to do with “Items Removed” Error in Sims 4

1. Ignore it

It’s quite common that the “Items Removed” error message may randomly appear. No worries, it’s just a harmless glitch.

It’s a common thing that happens especially after a game update (for example infant update).

If you’re unsure, check if any actual items are missing from your lot. If everything seems fine, it’s likely just a bug to ignore.

2. Enable or disable mods and CC

Now if there is an actual thing that is missing from your lot, consider disabling or enabling mods and CC for a while to see if the problem still persists.

To enable or disable Mods and CC, follow these steps:

  1. In the game’s main menu, click on “Game Options.”
  2. Navigate to “Other” and ensure the “Enable Custom Content and Mods” option is checked to enable it. Leave it unchecked to disable it.
  3. Click “Apply Changes”.
  4. Restart the game and see if the same problem still occurs.

3. Reinstall a recently-deleted CC or mod

Have you just deleted a CC or mod right before the “Items Removed” error started to happen? If that’s the case, you can consider getting back the deleted CC or mods.

Put them back into your mods folder and restart your game.

4. Repair your game

Corrupted game files can lead to the “Items Removed” error.

Try to repair the game through Origin:

  1. Right-click on The Sims 4 in your Origin library.
  2. Select the “Repair” option.
  3. Restart the game and check if the error persists.

5. Update your game

If there is a latest update where EA developers provide fixes to some bugs, consider updating your game.

6. Contact EA

If after trying those things above the problem still occurs, and there are actual things that are missing in your inventory, consider contacting EA support.

Why does my Sims 4 keep saying items removed?

Most possibly, it’s just a harmless glitch to ignore. Check your inventory and maybe nothing is really missing. However, if you find out that something is truly missing, you can start several things such as repairing your game via Origin, reinstalling a CC or mods, disabling CC or mods,
